FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do your candles burn?

Each Hearth & Mil candle burns for approximately 40 hours. To get the most out of your candle, always trim the wick to ¼" before lighting and allow the wax to melt fully across the surface during each burn.

What kind of wax do you use?

We use 100% vegan soy wax for a clean, slow, and eco-friendly burn. Our candles are hand-poured in small batches using sustainable materials and no additives or toxins.

Are your candles safe and non-toxic?

Yes! Our candles are phthalate-free, paraben-free, and made with premium fragrance oils that are safe for use at home. No harsh chemicals—just pure, cozy scent blends.

What should I do if my candle tunnels?

Tunneling happens when the candle isn’t burned long enough for the wax to melt edge to edge. On the first burn (and each time after), let your candle burn for 2–4 hours to create an even wax pool and prevent tunneling.

Can I reuse the jar?

Definitely! Once your candle is finished, simply remove any remaining wax, wash with warm soapy water, and repurpose your jar—perfect for pens, matches, or tiny treasures.

Do you offer custom or wholesale orders?
